Varas ("we", "us") is a habit tracker for iPhone. The short version: your habits stay on your iPhone, and we don't collect them.
What we collect
Nothing. Varas has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The app doesn't send your data to us or to anyone else.
What's stored on your device
Your habits, check-ins, skipped days, reasons and notes, quit counters and settings are stored locally on your iPhone. A small part of this (for example today's habits, your colour choice and day start time) is shared between the app, its widget and its notifications through an App Group, which never leaves your device.
Varas also saves a backup copy of your data once a day in the app's folder on your iPhone, which shows in the Files app. It stays on your device unless you choose to share it.
Permissions
- Notifications: used only for reminders you set. They're scheduled on your device.
- Face ID: used only to open habits you mark private. Face ID is handled by iOS; Varas never receives your biometric data.
Backups and exports
If you choose to back up your data or export your history, Varas creates a file and hands it to the iOS share sheet. Where it goes (iCloud Drive, Files, AirDrop, email) is up to you, and that service's own privacy policy applies.
Children
Varas doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above. If we ever add features that handle data differently, we'll say so here and in the app before they ship.
