Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of the Milestone app ("the app"), provided by its developer ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app you agree to them.

What Milestone is

Milestone lets you describe past drives in plain text, shows them on a map, and works out stats and a Road License class from them. It is made for fun, memory and sharing.

Not for navigation or safety

Routes are produced by AI and routing services and are an approximation of the roads you describe. They may be wrong, incomplete or not exactly the path you took. Don't use Milestone to navigate, to plan a journey, or as a record for insurance, legal, tax or reimbursement purposes. Never use your phone while driving.

Using Milestone

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, under Apple's Media Services Terms. Please don't copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the app.

Please don't misuse the AI features, for example to generate harmful or unlawful content, or to overload our services or the services we rely on.

Your content

You own the text and details you enter. You allow us to process them to run the app, which includes sending them to the AI and routing services described in the Privacy Policy. Don't enter anything unlawful, and don't include other people's personal details.

Your data

Your drives are stored on your device. We can't recover them from a lost, damaged or reset device.

Third-party services

Milestone relies on services we don't control, including Mapbox for maps, Google Gemini for AI and OSRM with OpenStreetMap data for routing. Features may change or stop working if those services do. Maps © Mapbox © OpenStreetMap contributors.

Paid features

If the app offers paid features or subscriptions in future, purchases are handled by the App Store, and prices, billing, renewals and refunds follow Apple's terms. Details will be shown before you buy.

No warranty

The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We work hard to make it reliable, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that routes and stats will be accurate.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from use of the app. Nothing here limits rights you have under law that can't be excluded.

Changes

We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do. Continuing to use the app means you accept the updated terms.
